It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bryce Ronald Loucks on March 26, 2026, at the age of 42.
Bryce was born in Rocky Mountain House on November 2, 1983, to Ron and Susan. Growing up on the family acreage east of Alhambra, Bryce quickly gained an appreciation for the outdoors. Even as a little tyke, he was up and outside, roaming the yard in just a diaper and rubber boots before the rest of the house was up. Bryce attended Leslieville Elementary School and David Thompson High School and then went on to earn his Red Seal for Heavy Duty Mechanic. Bryce enjoyed baseball and hockey throughout his younger years and had a natural talent for any sport he played as a youth and into adulthood.
Bryce was a skilled mechanic who took great pride in his work. He was known for his willingness to lend a hand, and his ability to fix just about anything. Outside of work, Bryce found his greatest peace outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping - time spent in nature was where he felt most at home. Whether it was around a campfire or out on the water, those moments reflected his appreciation for the simple things in life. Many summers were spent in the wall tent, fishing around Alberta, and on the trails with the horses with family and friends. Fishing and hunting with his dad, nephews, and friends were cherished moments for Bryce. From tiny minnows as a boy in Swan Lake, to a large 200-pound skate in Prince Rupert, every catch was a thrill for Bryce. Bear, elk, deer, and geese; he enjoyed any hunt and was as proud of his hunting partners' success as his own. Although he enjoyed the serenity of nature, Bryce also had a fast and furious side. He enjoyed the open road on his Harley. Bryce didn't do anything halfway; it was all or nothing, work or play.
Bryce leaves behind his parents Ron Loucks and Susan Dickson; daughter Makayla Fair, sisters Melanie (Brent Bott), Brandy Loucks (Dustin Black), Kali Reichert and Kacie Reichert; his nephews Rylan and Kaiden Bott, Zachary and Zander Black; and extended family and friends. Bryce was predeceased by his niece Chloe Melissa and his grandparents, Jack and Edna Loucks and Jim and Bobbie Dickson. Bryce will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

I’m so so sorry. He was such an outgoing person. He insisted on a friendship with me when I didn’t think there was one to find. Just a good man. I truly value the piece of my life he inhabited. It was intermittent but always important.
