Obituary

Victor Owen Stewart passed away peacefully, with family by his side on December 19, 2025, at the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre, at the age of 84 years. His courageous battle will forever be remembered by family and friends.
Victor was born in Murchyville, Nova Scotia on May 8,1941 to Freda & Owen Stewart. The oldest of seven children were raised in Nova Scotia until 1952, then Lloydminster, AB/SK.
Victor married his forever love Frances Arlene Roth on May 20, 1961. Victor & Frances had three children Cindy, Todd and Troy. Victor worked to support his family at the same time as successfully completing his Inter Provincial Motor Mechanic License on Feb. 27, 1964, Management Development Program courses at the University of Alberta and Automotive Dealership Courses in Edmonton, Calgary, & San Francisco.
Victor worked at Skinner Motors in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, and Ford Motor Company Ltd. In Edmonton, Alberta. In 1976 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan he became President and General Sales Manager of Stewart Ford Mercury Sales Ltd. and business partners with his brother Craig.
Victor held many volunteer positions while living in Lloydminster including Kinsmen Club, Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce, Lloydminster golf expansion committee and Junior A Lancer Hockey Club, gaining him great respect by the community.
In 1989 a final move for Victor and Frances brought them to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta where Victor took on the General Manager position at Rainbow Ford where he worked until his retirement in 2008.
After retirement Victor continued to enjoy his love of fixing things- vehicles, motorhomes, t.v.’s, computers, solar lights, and renovating his home. Camping and time spent with family along his travels, brought him peace in his quiet private life. Gardening and preserving Frances flowers brought him comfort following her death.
Victor leaves to mourn his daughter Cindy (Bob) Wilford, and sons Todd & Troy Stewart. Surviving Victor are his most precious gifts of all, his grandchildren: Damon (Heather) Wilford, Dustin (Chelsea Mitchell) Wilford, Paige (Mike) Phaneuf, Tanner Thompson, Cree (Jaryd) Shippelt, Hunter (Keanne) Thompson, Bear & Tory Stewart. What a beautiful ceremony today. So many precious memories presented by a heart broken, proud and loving family! Vic would be so proud ! Deepest sympathy to Cindy, Todd, Troy and your extended families!

Ray & Shelley Tatro:

With heartfelt condolences on the passing of Vic. A longtime family friend who we connected through hockey. A wonderful man who will be fondly remembered. Cherish those memories.

Raffath and Zuhy Sayeed:

Cindy, Bob, Todd and Troy,
Victor meant so much to us- Frances and Vic did as a team.
They were the ones we learned how to raise kids from, how to enjoy our chosen home in Lloydminster, how to make Frances cabbage rolls and her Chile...
Vic's sense of humor, his love for all things Lloydminster, his caring and compassion will long be remembered.
We were together- the four of us and our kids many evenings and our conversations were always tinged with humor and enjoyment in each other's company.
We cannot express the feeling of loss and depth, but we pray that Vic and his beloved Frances are in the stars still championing those they love.

To the entire family - you have lost your rock but he will forever remain with you.
That's just our Vic. He will always be there.

Deepest condolences.

Sandra and Glenn Becker:

Ernie Kitteringham:

I always have good memories of working at Stewart Ford.
Vic Stewart gave me a job in 1978 and I still remember my meeting with him,
upstairs in the Old Skinner Motors building.
He was a great Boss who let employees expand their career’s in different directions.
Never heard a bad comment about Vic and all his employees were dedicated to Vic, Craig and Ward.
Lots of great people worked at Stewart Ford, Vic Nickless, Ed Vokins, Orm Folkins, Dick Empson and
Many others. Vic Stewart was a man that had a positive impact on many people.
