June 28, 1964 – May 31, 2026
We are sad to announce the passing of Edward Albert Schrader on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at
4:20 p.m. in the Red Deer Hospital ICU.
Edward was born on June 28, 1964, in Innisfail, Alberta, to Marg and Jack Schrader. He
was the youngest of three children, with siblings Joanne and Eugene.
He grew up on Schrader Flats near the James River Bridge and attended school in Caroline,
Alberta, where he made many lifelong friends. Rodeo was his life — his passion for horses
and the rodeo lifestyle defined him.
Edward was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, stepdaughter Gabrielle, and brother-in-
law Shane.
He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne; his children Jessica (Peter), Steve (Kara), and
Austin (Ireland); his bonus children Abigail (Daryl), Paulson (Raelynn), and Emily (Kyler);
his sister Joanne; his brother Eugene; and his six grandchildren along with numerous nieces
and nephews. His love for horses and the rodeo life will live on through his family and legacy.
A Celebration of Life for Edward will be held at the Caroline Hub, Caroline, AB on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 1:00 PM. Overnight camping will be available Saturday night with washrooms and showers provided.

It seems lonely on the flats with out Ed around. We always looked forward to his many visits to our cabin each year. We will miss his conversations about horses , stewardship of the land and local events. We were at the cabin on the weekend and it is definately not the same. Sincere condolance Yvonne and family we will remember Ed and think of him often. Our cabin door is always open for your family.

Edward was always one to say hello and give hugs. He will be missed by many. Rest in peace man you deserve it. Prayers Linda Biggart.
