Charles “Charlie” Dufour

Passed peacefully away surrounded by family August 8, 2026, in Red Deer Hospital.

As per Charlie’s wishes, no service will be held.

Charlie was born April 20, 1949, to Cecila and Ralph Dufour in the family home in Essex County Ontario where he grew up and lived until he met and married the love of his life Pam Crawford on February 28, 1975. Later that same year in July they welcomed their first Daughter Karen and then 2 years later welcome Tina in October of 1977. The family moved to Rocky Mountain House Alberta the spring of 1980. Charlie was the happiest when he was behind the wheel, he worked as a bus driver and then from many years as a tow truck driver in town, until he retired.

Charlie’s heart and sense of humor was as big as he was, he would give his last dollar to someone he thought needed it more and he was always an ear to listen to anyone that wanted to talk no matter if you were someone he knew for years or minutes. His family was the most important thing and what he was most proud of in his life. His wife of 51 years Pam was his world, and his happy place was to be by her side. Pam and Charlie spent time working together as well as many countless hours side by side in a tow truck travelling all over Alberta. He was blessed with two daughters that he was endlessly proud of. As a girl dad he never treated them like princesses, he made sure that they were prepared to take care of themselves, be it making sure they knew enough about a car to get themselves home as well as being “the” example of what a loving husband and father should be. His Grandkids were his joy in life like the ultimate life prize he had won, the time that he got to spend with them was always the highlight of the day and would boast about to all that would listen about them.

Charlie will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pam, Daughters Karen (Dave) Evans, and Tina Dufour (Cal Cadue). 4 grandchildren Zachary (Brittany) Evans, Mike Cadue, Dalton Evans, and Kellie Evans (Gary Li). Sister Mary Kay Ondracka and Brother Tom (Pat) Dufour. As well as many brothers /sisters in laws, nieces/nephews and many chosen family that were built throughout his life that were very dear to his heart.

Charlie is predeceased by his parents Cecila and Ralph Dufour, Father and Mother-in-law Raymond and Doris Crawford.
