Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Sidney Lepard, who passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Ron was the proud owner and operator of Blue Trail Log Homes, a company he founded and devoted himself to for five decades. Known for his exceptional skill with a chainsaw, his innovation and advancement of the log-building craft, and his ability to build, create, and fix almost everything. Ron left a lasting mark on both his industry and those who knew him. His work reflected the pride, precision, ingenuity, and determination he brought to every aspect of his life.

Known for his generous heart, Ron was always thinking of others. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and believed in looking out for those around him. Family and friends will forever remember one of his favourite sayings: "Pay attention." Whether offered as advice, encouragement, or a gentle reminder, those words reflected the way he lived his life.
Life was not always easy for Ron, but he faced every challenge with remarkable courage and resilience. After overcoming cancer twice and defying the odds by living an additional 26 years beyond what doctors once expected, he continued to embrace life with determination and strength. In his final battle, he fought bravely and brilliantly until the very end.

Ron believed that family was something you built, not something you were simply born into. Whether related by blood or not, he welcomed people from all walks of life with open arms and a generous heart. Over the years, he gathered an extraordinary circle of friends, neighbours, and loved ones, many of whom became family by choice rather than by birth. To Ron, family was defined by loyalty, love, and showing up for one another, and he created a community of people who knew they always had a place with him.

Ron leaves behind his beloved daughter, Alli (Jordan) Urquhart, and his cherished stepchildren, Sy (Sherylee) Snyder, Terra (Trent) Snyder, and Jenny (Kirk) Sydor.

He was a proud grandfather to Brooklyn, Anna, Heathcliff, Amelia, Henzo, Asher, Casper, and "Bonka's Boy," CJ, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Ron is also survived by his brother, Brian (Denise) Lepard, and his sister, Debb Ryder and niece Savannah Ryder.

He was predeceased by his mother, May McColm, and his father, Sidney Lepard.

A man of strength, skill, generosity, and unwavering perseverance, Ron leaves behind a legacy that will live on through his family, the lives he touched, and the countless memories shared by those who knew and loved him.

Though he may be gone from our sight, he will remain forever in our hearts.

So much to say about a man that so often made my day
Physically you may gone away but i can still give you a hug in every other way .
So may memories ; even some mystical magical moments :) 50 some years with lots of laughter and joy full tears. Indeed Ron you are not gone. You are the sunlight on unripened grain ; you are the gentle autumns rain . So no need to stand by your grave and cry ; you are not there you did not die.
