Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Sofia Ziola at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on March 30th, 2026.

In 1952 Elsie and Leo Ziola were married and settled on their farm near Condor.

Elsie loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, quilting, crochet, and other crafts.
She was actively involved in her community through the Royal Purple, canvassing for the Canadian Cancer Society, and many other community initiatives. She was an excellent cook and always had some fresh baking ready for company. She enjoyed curling, and spent many years camping and playing cards with friends and family.

Elsie will be dearly missed by her daughter Eunice, son Daryle; grandchildren Shelley, Mark, Amanda (Steve), and Daylene; great-grandchildren Chris, Savanna, Michael, Woodrow (Rachel), Jacob, Olivia, Teeanna and Kendra; great-great-grandchildren Sofia, Claire and Alexander; brothers Lee Patjas (Marjorie) of Kelowna and John (Lou) of Red Deer and several nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was predeceased by husband Leo, parents Otto and Alice Patjas, brother Raymond and sister-in-law Eileen.
In accordance with Elsie's wishes, there will be no funeral service and a family graveside gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
