Sharon Alice Arnold passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at the age of 84, with her family by her side.
Born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, on November 8, 1941, Sharon was the second daughter of Fraser and Hazel Cowie.
On May 13, 1961, she married the love of her life, Elmer. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in devotion, family, and shared memories. Sharon carried the warmth, strength, and community spirit of her Northern Manitoba roots with her throughout her journey.
Sharon dedicated many years to enriching the lives of children as a teachers assistant at Kelsey School in The Pas. Beyond her career, she was deeply committed to lifting up her community and advocating for seniors. She served on the Age-friendly council to establish senior housing in The Pas and was a long-time President of The Pas Golden Agers. Her profound commitment to community advocacy earned her the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award as well as the Manitoba Council on Aging Award.
In 2017, Sharon and Elmer moved to Rocky Mountain House. Often wishing they had made the move sooner, they quickly rooted themselves in the local area. They became vibrant, strong members of the town and were well-known as strong supporters of The Pioneer Centre.
Sharon’s greatest joy, however, was always her family. She was a dedicated wife, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother, always wrapping her loved ones in unconditional love, wisdom, and comfort. Her final moments were a beautiful reflection of the life she lived—surrounded by the deep love of the family she cherished so dearly.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Elmer on August 7, 2023, her parents, Fraser and Hazel, her sister Carole, and her two precious sons, Brent and Scott.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy through her daughters, Donna and Jennifer, and their families, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the communities of The Pas and Rocky Mountain House, and all those whose lives she touched with her gentle kindness.

Linda and Brian Freeman:
We met up with Sharon and Elmer at Senior Exercise classes shortly after they moved to Rocky. We joined up with the HAPPY GANG and enjoyed several Birthday, Anniversary celebrations together. She was a marvelous and much loved gal. She enjoyed a hot dog around our fire pit. Will miss you Sharon. Had a great few last visits.
